“You were once wild here. Don’t let them tame you.”
―Isadora Duncan
b. 1985 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
I consider painting to be my main medium of choice, however, over the years I have learned about and tried other mediums which have informed my choice of materials over time. I consider myself to be a mixed media artist working mainly in painting (acrylic), book art and collage.
Through my work I examine black identity, loss, women's issues, generational trauma and resilience among other things. I am currently in the MFA Visual Arts program ('27) at Watkins College of Art at Belmont University where I am working in collage, book art and textiles to examine these themes and enhance my work.
